FOR PARENTS

Next PTO Meeting:  February 9th, at 7 p.m., at the Junior High.  Every parent wants their child to have the skills they need to manage life successfully on a daily basis and to be happy in life.  The capacity to cope effectively with life's challenges is called resilience - and some researchers say it is the most important quality you can instill in your child.   Please join us as our guest speaker, Peggy Kubert, LCSW and Director of Erika's Lighthouse, leads a presentation on this important aspect of parenting at the next PTO meeting.

Take the PTO Funding Survey! We need your input. The WJHS PTO seeks parent input on how its dollars should be allocated.  Please participate in this important survey, which should take 5 minutes or less, by clicking the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PLMJ5LW

Brain Fitness Day is Jan. 27. Your child will receive a handout that supplements the activities during the presentations. If you would like to view a copy of the handout, CLICK HERE.

YOUTH CONNECTION

Don't forget Battle of the Bands at 7:30pm on Friday, February 3rd!  Come hear local talent of WJHS students in the school auditorium.  The event is co-sponsored by KISS-FM and will feature DJ, Brotha Fred. Tickets are $10 at the door and will include the chance to win a five-person pass to meet Mike Posner in the KISS-FM Coca Cola Lounge.

New Recording Studio at WJHS:  Open House on Friday, February 3rd - Just in time to host our Battle of the Bands musicians, WJHS is opening a state-of-the-art recording studio to anchor the school's performing arts wing.  The D39 Educational Foundation installed the studio in memory of WJHS parent, Paul Tilley, and hopes it will serve as a creative incubator at the school for many years.

All parents and students are invited to an open house to dedicate the recording studio on Battle of the Bands night.  The open house will be held 6:15-7:15pm on Friday, February 3rd.  Please stop by to see this wonderful resource before taking your seats for Battle of the Bands!

The talent continues at WJHS with Youth Connection's Spring Musical on March 16th, 17th, and 18th.  CLICK HERE to learn more.
