Social Dance
A decision on whether social dance will be able to be held will be made later in the school year. An email communication will be sent to parents regarding this matter. Thank you for your understanding.
Social Dance is a long-standing tradition at WJHS for 7th graders. It is a professionally taught traditional dance instruction class. Students will learn dance etiquette, traditional types of dance such as the FoxTrot, Waltz, Cha Cha, etc and the accompanying social graces/etiquette.
This class is open to all 7th grade students who would like to learn about these traditional dances. Please note that this is not a dance party with a DJ and should not be treated that way. WJHS staff will also be in attendance to ensure that students follow the code of conduct.
Please consider before signing up if this type of class and environment will be something your child would like to participate in along with their 7th grade peers. Historically, we have had over 200 students sign-up; however, it is not for everyone.
Details:
- Classes are generally held at WJHS from 7-8:15pm in the school gym.
- The class typically runs for five consecutive weeks on Tuesday nights beginning in January
- On the last day of class, students are encouraged to invite one or both parents to participate
