How does the PTO spend its money?

- Educational Field Trips: the 8th Grade trip to the Holocaust Museum; the 7th Grade trip to the Museum of Science & Industry; the language classes have visited Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood and the Christkindle Market; and the special needs classes attended a performance of The Red Kite.
- School Activities: 7th Grade Social Dance; 8th Grade Graduation activities and party.
- Other support: Providing clubs; Teacher appreciation lunches; Cafeteria and outdoor classroom staffing; Financial donations to the school; The Angel Fund.
How do I get a WJHS Parent Directory?
If you have joined the WJHS PTO, you can access the directory through A to Z. With your log-in info from an email sent in August, you can start the process to join the PTO. Hard copy directories can be purchased for $5 each. The only way to get the directory is through membership to the PTO.
Where can I purchase a gym uniform?
Gym uniforms are available for purchase by check or cash at the PTO Coffee or school office when school begins; you may use uniforms from prior year. $12 for shirt and $8 for shorts.
Does the PTO sell School Supply kits?
Yes, school supply kits are sold in May for the following school year. More information is available here. If you miss the order deadline, you can purchase supplies on your own using the school supply lists. Please contact schoolsupplies@wjhspto.com for additional options.
What medical forms are required by WJHS?
As noted on the District website: “According to The School Code of Illinois, physical examinations are required of all students prior to initial entrance into school and upon entrance into sixth grade. All children entering kindergarten must submit a recent physical examination form. All children new to the District must also do so.” More information is available on the school’s web site.
When is Picture Day?
We’ll let you know when Picture Day is scheduled. Check the home page for more information. Your child should come to school on Picture Day with the Picture Form completed. Picture Day Forms can be found on the WJHS school website here.
Are there any after school programs at WJHS?
Yes. The PTO sponsors after school clubs in the fall, winter and spring. These clubs are run by the Wilmette Park District. Information will be available at the start of each registration period.
