TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

Today concludes a week of activities to celebrate our teachers and staff at WJHS! The PTO themed this week “WJHS All Stars” to thank them for who they are and for always STAR-ting our days off right! Teachers and staff were treated to an all star lineup each day this week of breakfast with homemade protein bars, smoothies and sourdough bread, Maggiano’s for lunch, a candy bar extravaganza, and a Jersey Mike’s closing lunch. On behalf of our parent community, each WJHS staff member also received an All Star t-shirt from the PTO to show them how much we value their dedication and support! A portion of your annual PTO membership dues pays for these treats to show our appreciation and support!

ENRICHMENT NEWS

This week the New Trier English Language Program hosted its annual multicultural lunch where students were offered tastes of food from their countries of origin to celebrate the diverse cultures represented in the NY community. WJHS’s Ms. Crisp and her EL students had the opportunity to attend and represent Russia, Ukraine, Korea, the Philippines and Venezuela. This trip was sponsored by the WJHS PTO’s iGNITE Fund for Enrichment. Thank you to the parents who have donated to iGNITE!

Also this week the WJHS Student Council delivered food and money collected at last Friday’s school dance to the New Trier Township Food Pantry. This wonderful service opportunity for our students was sponsored by the WJHS PTO’s iGNITE Fund for Enrichment. Thank you so much to all parents who donate to iGNITE!
